Damon S. Bivek
Biography
Damon is a founding partner of Bivek Brubaker & Prescott LLC. Together with his partners, they have built a firm dedicated to excellence, client service, professionalism, and forward-thinking representation. "My partners and I recognize that the foundation of an effective attorney-client relationship lies in communication and trust." When dealing with your family law issues, it is important to recognize that emotions can cloud judgment. Selecting the right advocate to represent your interests and help you design a strategic roadmap to guide you is one of the most critical decisions an individual going through a family law dispute can make."
"We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to consult with first-rate attorneys who are knowledgeable, and can offer a specialized expertise in the area of family law." Bivek Brubaker and Prescott LLC focuses its practice exclusively in the area of family law, and Damon handles cases in the Superior Courts of Cobb, Fulton, Paulding, Dekalb, Henry, Forsyth, Cherokee, Canton, Gwinnett and the Court of Appeals.
Damon has clerked for the Supreme Court of Georgia, and is trained as a Guardian Ad Litem. He recently served, from 2010- 2011, as the President of the Family Law Section of the Cobb County Bar Association, and has also served on the Cobb County Bar Association's Board of Trustees. He has organized several Continuing Legal Education events for Family Law practitioners in Georgia, and recently served as the Chair of a Family Law Symposium that covered hot topics and trends in family law including E-Discovery and social media, utilizing private investigators, dividing closely-held family businesses, dividing complex stock options, 401(K)s and retirement assets, and working effectively with a Guardian Ad Litem in contested custody cases. Damon regularly leads a Family Law Workshop at the Cobb County Superior Court for pro se litigants who need help resolving their family law disputes.
When Damon is not in the courtroom or serving the legal community, he enjoys spending time with his Wife and Son, golfing, traveling, and playing with his Labrador Retriever, Cocoa. Don't let his calm assertive demeanor deceive you, as one client puts it: "He is definitely a lawyer I would want on my side, not against me in a tough battle."
